England is the largest and richest country of the United Kingdom. The land is mostly flat or undulating and there are upland areas in the north (the Pennine Chain, the Cumbrian mountains and the Yorkshire moorlands) and in Devon and Cornwall, in the southwest.

The most densely populated areas are in London and the southeast, the industrial cities, such as: Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield.

There are many national parks, forests, historic buildings and castles, safari and wildlife parks that are unspoilt areas.

There are also some important monuments and sights that are worth a visit, especially in London.
