It is also known as Ulster. This is a land of
mountains and green forest parks, beautiful lakes and lonely moors and rocky
coastlines. There are also historic cities – Belfast (Its capital city),
Londonderry and Armagh, which St Patrick used to call “my sweet hill”.
One of the most famous
sights of Ulster is the Giant’s Causeway – a path of about 40,000 columns of
rock, most hexagonal, that runs out from the cliffs into the sea. Legend says
an Irish giant, Finn McCool, who fell in love with a lady giant on one of the
Scottish islands, built it. He wanted to bring her across to Ulster and he is
supposed to have put the rocks together as the beginning of a bridge.
